Dexter’s role
Production from proof to delivery
  • Proofing
  • Material guidance
  • Fine art printing
  • Framing
  • Logistics

The starting point

The photograph first. The same care through every stage.

The photographs were taken by Jan Troell, with selection and curatorial work carried out under the direction of Trelleborg Museum. Dexter’s task was to translate the material into a consistent physical presentation while respecting the tone, detail and character of each image.

Proofs made tonal range, black density, detail and material response tangible before full production began. They gave the team a concrete basis for the final decisions on reproduction and presentation.

One responsibility

From first proof to museum gallery.

Once the specifications were set, printing, framing and logistics could move through one coordinated workflow. Every component was quality-checked against the same visual direction.

  1. 01

    Proofing

Evaluating tone, detail, black density and material before production.

  2. 02

    Material guidance

Joint decisions on reproduction, materials and physical presentation.

  3. 03

    Print & framing

Prints and frames were produced as parts of one visual whole.

  4. 04

    Control & logistics

Finished works were inspected and delivery to the museum was coordinated.

Outcome

One clear partner through every practical stage.

For the museum, this meant a single coordinated delivery. Image, paper, frame and transport were treated not as separate orders, but as parts of the same exhibition.

The exhibition brings together photographs from nine decades and is on view at Trelleborg Museum in summer 2026.

Photographs in the exhibition: Jan Troell. Curated by Trelleborg Museum.
